"Do you want to play a killer Christmas tree?" "Sure, why not!" I responded to Tim Burton's question. Helping my friend and neighbor with his Super 8 monster movies was my first exposure to acting and I've been bitten by the bug ever since. Being raised in Burbank surely had it's interesting moments. Surrounded by many studios was tempting and so I took advantage of that by sneaking onto the Universal lot to see what employees did for a living. "Scotty The Guard" didn't mind as long as I didn't cause trouble. Everyone I met at Universal was very kind to give me a moment. From Editors, Grips, Foley Artists, etc. it was all interesting to see how everything behind the camera works. I fell in love with the Industry. I learned the basics of acting in college and then attended workshops a get a more in depth understanding of the craft. With the help of Lee Strasberg Alumni Victoria Wallace, I began to understand the process of character development through the exercises and the tools given to make choices. I continue to observe human behavior on a daily basis. That is the foundation for understanding physical characteristics, intellect, speech, etc. There are so many wonderful traits we observe from others that can be brought to a character. So if i'm required to play another killer Christmas tree, I'm ready.
