DJ Robinson is an American actor, producer & international hip-hop recording artist based in Hollywood, California. Daniel Joseph Robinson was born in Jacksonville, Florida where his Dad pastored an artistic multicultural church. As a child DJ began performing music, puppetry, and comedy, and filmed videos with his dad's old VHS camera. In high school, DJ was trained in musical theater and studied acting at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts where he won awards for his portrayal of Don Quixote in the Man of La Mancha. Dreaming the impossible dream DJ began to write music. After high school, DJ and his friends were signed to the Shabach Entertainment record label and released the hip-hop album "Camp Quest". This album spawned multiple international tours with music videos featured on BET & MTV. DJ was hired by the nonprofit youth organization Project SOS and toured the nation performing comedy and music for hundreds of thousands of students. DJ wrote, produced, and starred in the sketch comedy tv series "SOS TV", where he directed his first dramatic scene. Soon after DJ was cast on the WB TV series "Ultimate Choice" and released his first solo album... "Adventure". In 2005 DJ moved to Hollywood, California to pursue a career in entertainment. DJ worked with Front Porch Entertainment to develop family friendly entertainment and sold seven concepts to NBC. He worked in Compton with inner city youth and partnered with La Familia Hispania to develop the "Don't get Crushed" school tour. Soon, DJ booked bit roles on TV shows such as CSI, iCarly, Grey's Anatomy, ER, Teen Wolf and The Muppets. During this time, he released his third album "Songs from the Cocoon". While living in a beach bungalow on Catalina Island, DJ was awarded a full film school scholarship from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. He began to study filmmaking at Los Angeles City College. DJ landed internships with Universal/ NBC. He worked in creative development with the Dino De Laurentiis Company and worked production for the Syfy network on the special effects competition show "Face-off". DJ made the Dean's list and his award-winning student films were showcased at the Morgan Freeman Theater. He was invited by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association to work on the production team for the Golden Globe ceremony airing on ABC. For his final project, DJ partnered with Samsung 360 VR to produce a virtual reality mafia movie, "The Godfather's Daughter". During this time, DJ self-directed his music video "A Westside Story" and released his third solo album "The 7 Seasons of Daniel" on Amazon, Apple Music & Spotify. DJ booked commercials for the Apple company, produced the soundtrack for the film "Fight to Live" and was hired by Director Mark Forster for the role of Parishioner EK for the Amazon Prime series "Hand of God". Recently, DJ walked at The Greek Theater and graduated with a bachelor's degree in filmmaking from California State University Northridge. He recently returned from his travels to Africa & Israel to write and produce his first feature film "Black Gold". His new single "Stranger Things" is streaming now. DJ has a heart for Hollywood and is excited about the adventures ahead.
