Laura was born in Detroit, Michigan. She studied journalism at Eastern Michigan University, where she was a member of the varsity rowing team. She received a masters in criminal behavior at Tiffin University. She moved to San Angelo, Texas with her husband before finally landing in Austin, Texas in 2018. Laura studies at Carol Hickey Acting Studio in Austin.
